The Lamar Texans will face off against the Cy-Fair Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lamar knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully Cy-Fair likes a good challenge.
Lamar is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They never let Houston Math Science & Tech get on the board and left with a 69-0 win on Thursday. The Texans pushed the score to 62-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers had no chance of recovering from.

While passing duties were split, you can't argue with the impact Jayden Robins and Cade Mansour both made on the game. Robins threw for 175 yards and three TDs while completing 81.8% of his passes while Mansour threw for 101 yards and three touchdowns. What's more, Mansour racked up 177.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Juelz Wilson did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 108 receiving yards.
Lamar was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 247 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 199 rushing yards in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Cy-Fair, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They claimed a resounding 52-3 victory over Northbrook. That looming 52-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bobcats yet this season.
Lamar better focus on containing Sean Riegler and Arnell Fontenot as the pair were huge in Cy-Fair's win. Riegler threw for 203 yards and three TDs while completing 91.7% of his passes, while Fontenot rushed for 91 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Lamar Brooks Jr, who picked up 122 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Lamar's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.3 points on average over those games. As for Cy-Fair, their record now sits at 7-3.
The upcoming matchup will be a clash of competing strengths. Lamar has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 207.7 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Cy-Fair has preferred to attack from the air: they average 280.7 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
