Soccer Recap: Belfry Triumphs

Belfry hadn't done well against Johnson Central recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Pirates never let the Golden Eagles get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Belfry have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Johnson Central, too.

The win got Belfry back to even at 5-5. As for Johnson Central, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belfry will head out to challenge Lawrence County at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Johnson Central, they will venture away from home to face off against Prestonsburg at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prestonsburg will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Johnson Central surely won't give up without a fight.
