The Foundation Academy Lions will challenge the Windermere Prep Lakers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Foundation Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Foundation Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against University Christian on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Christians. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Lions, who until this game were averaging 3.59 runs allowed.

Ethan Pate was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Taveras, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 19 runs the game before, Windermere Prep was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They came up short against Lake Highland Prep, falling 12-2. The Lakers haven't had much luck with the Highlanders recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Windermere Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nicolas Pe?a, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Windermere Prep's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Foundation Academy, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-7.

Foundation Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Windermere Prep when the teams last played back in April of 2023, winning 3-0. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lakers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
