Volleyball Recap: North Yarmouth Academy Takes a Loss

North Yarmouth Academy suffered their biggest loss since September 23rd on Saturday. They lost 3-0 to the Bucksport Golden Bucks. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Bucks earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

While North Yarmouth Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-20, 25-21.

Chloe Shervanick paced North Yarmouth Academy's offense, picking up five kills. Shervanick got some help from Ivy Hach and her nine assists. Kiana Roundy controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Marina Keene had an outrageously good game for Bucksport as she had ten digs and seven aces. That's the most aces Keene has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Hanscom, who had nine assists and eight digs.

North Yarmouth Academy's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-6. As for Bucksport, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

As of now, neither North Yarmouth Academy nor Bucksport have any future games scheduled.
