Volleyball Recap: Phillips Takes a Loss

Phillips extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-9. They fell 3-1 to the Abbotsford Falcons. Loggers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Falcons since Tuesday.

Annaka Tobias paced Phillips' offense, picking up 14 kills. Tobias got some help from Layla Staroba and her 21 assists. Staroba was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

As for Abbotsford, they now have a winning record of 7-6. The game was the first time they have beaten Phillips on their court since October 1, 2019.

Caylee Clement went supernova, getting 19 digs and seven aces. Those 19 digs gave her a new career-high. Marilyn Hammock also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Phillips has already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Shell Lake on the 13th. As for Abbotsford, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Gilman on the 11th.
