Volleyball Recap: Chapin's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Chapin waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Dutch Fork Silver Foxes. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

While Chapin won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-20, 25-23.

Chapin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lindsay Hodges, who had five digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Hodges a new career-high. Ella Speight was another key player, getting nine digs and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Chapin was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dutch Fork only served three.

Chapin's victory bumped their record up to 15-2-1. As for Dutch Fork, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Chapin has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Lexington on the 7th. Dutch Fork has also already played their next matchup (against White Knoll), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
