Softball Recap: Darlington Comes Up Short

Darlington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Iowa-Grant Panthers, falling 15-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 back in April.

Isabelle Winkers was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Darlington's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Iowa-Grant, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Darlington will face off against Southwestern at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Iowa-Grant, they will take on Fennimore at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
