Volleyball Recap: Milton's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three + How To Watch

Milton entered their tilt with Dunwoody on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Milton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-9, 25-11, 25-17.

Milton had a senior duo take command as Shelby Matteson had 17 digs and two aces and Catalina Saldana had 12 digs. Those 12 digs set a new season-high mark for Saldana. Abigail Mowbray also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Milton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive contests.

Dunwoody lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Simone Stroe, who had 18 digs and four assists.

Milton's victory bumped their record up to 23-14. As for Dunwoody, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-14.

Milton has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Gainesville on the 8th. As for Dunwoody, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Decatur on the 8th.
