Recap: Mountain View Buffalos vs. Wheatland Bulldogs
The Mountain View Buffalos put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Wheatland for the full four quarters, racking up a 41-6 victory at home. Considering Mountain View has won five contests by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Mountain View's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Eardley, who rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Schultz, who rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
Mountain View's victory was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-7 Hot Springs County and 2-6 Kemmerer (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.3% over those games). As for Wheatland, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-6.
Mountain View will look to defend their home field on Friday against Torrington at 1:00 p.m. Torrington knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Mountain View likes a good challenge. Wheatland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
