Baseball Game Preview: Issaquah Eagles vs. North Creek Jaguars

The Issaquah Eagles will square off against the North Creek Jaguars at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The last three games Issaquah has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Issaquah fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Bainbridge on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 6-5.

Nathan McBride was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5. Drew Ness also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between North Creek and Skyline, and North Creek kept the tradition alive. The Jaguars came out on top against the Spartans on Friday by a score of 2-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Cayden Christopherson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over 6.1 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Christopherson wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brady Miller, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

North Creek's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Issaquah, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.
