Football Game Preview: Edison Vikings vs. Lodi Flames + Official Tickets

The Edison Vikings will face off against the Lodi Flames at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Lodi took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Edison, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Edison took their matchup with ease, bagging a 50-14 win over Kimball. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 147th, while the Jaguars are ranked 526th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Lodi was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 38-14 to Lincoln. The Flames were down 30-7 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Although Lodi took the loss, they still got scores from Cooper Mettler and Noah Hufford.

Don't try to pin the team's loss on the defense: they kept the trenches locked down and allowed a mere 2.6 yards per carry. While one picked up at least six total tackles, Jon Reyes stood above the rest. He picked up two sacks and made six total tackles. Lodi's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.4.

Lodi didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Drew Tetz and Gerardo Gonzalez. Lodi got some further help from Reyes: he picked up two sacks and made six total tackles.

Edison is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.5 points over those games. As for Lodi, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Everything came up roses for Edison against Lodi in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-0 win. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Flames turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
