Softball Game Preview: Truckee Wolverines vs. Wooster Colts

Truckee is on a six-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Wooster a ten-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Truckee Wolverines will be playing at home against the Wooster Colts at 3:00 p.m. Truckee knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Wooster likes a good challenge.

Last Monday, Truckee made easy work of Wooster and carried off a 21-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won five in a row.

Truckee let Ellyse Hutchins and Melanye Ponce run wild. Hutchins went 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Ponce got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiya Rosario, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Truckee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .774. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Truckee's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Wooster, their loss dropped their record down to 0-15.
