Baseball Game Preview: Buffalo Bison vs. Eden Prairie Eagles

Buffalo is 1-6 against Eden Prairie since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bison are taking a road trip to challenge the Eagles at 7:15 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Buffalo came out on top against Hopkins on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Bison took their contest against the Royals 7-3. That's two games straight that the Bison have won by exactly four runs.

Buffalo got a great performance from CALEB JOHNSON as he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. What's more, JOHNSON posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on DOLEN BRISK, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of RILEY WEST, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Eden Prairie hadn't done well against Minnetonka recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand the Skippers a 4-0 shutout. The match marked the Eagles' most dominant win of the season.

Buffalo has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Eden Prairie, their record is now 3-9.
