Recap: IDEA Pharr vs. Idea Academy Titans
IDEA Pharr's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Idea Academy 46-9. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for IDEA Pharr in their matchups with Idea Academy: they've now lost seven in a row.
Layla Perez continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Idea Academy, almost dropping a triple-double on 28 points, nine rebounds, and 16 steals. The contest was Perez's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Juliza Lopez, who scored four points along with six rebounds and five steals.
IDEA Pharr's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1. As for Idea Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
IDEA Pharr will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Idea Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 30, 2024. After both having extra time off, Idea Academy and IDEA College Prep will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
