Softball Recap: Vasquez Takes a Loss

If Vasquez was feeling good fresh off their 20-1 takedown of Palmdale Academy Charter School last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Vasquez lost 9-2 to Arleta on Saturday. Vasquez was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Arleta apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Vasquez saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mariah Pulido, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

The loss snapped Vasquez's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-8 record. As for Arleta, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5.

Looking ahead, Vasquez will be taking part in a tournament against Chavez at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Arleta, they will head out on the road to face off against San Fernando at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
