Basketball Recap: York Takes a Loss

York was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. The game between them and the A.C. Flora Falcons didn't end well, with the York Cougars falling 66-49. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Falcons are ranked 81st).

Despite the loss, York still got an impressive performance from Christian Smith, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zan Walling, who posted four points and six rebounds.

York's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for A.C. Flora, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

York will be playing in front of their home fans against South Pointe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for A.C. Flora, they will venture away from home to challenge Lancaster at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
