Volleyball Recap: Walsh Eagles vs. Wiley Panthers
Walsh extended their losing streak to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 2-13. They lost 3-0 to the Wiley Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.
River Loader paced Walsh's offense, picking up six kills. Loader got some help from Ava Alley and her ten assists. Yaneidi Calzada controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
As for Wiley, their win ended an eight-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-9. The matchup marked their most dominant victory of the season.
McKenzie Mapes was the offensive standout of the match as she had ten digs.
Walsh wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Springfield on the 7th. As for Wiley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 defeat against Kit Carson on the 6th.
