Volleyball Recap: Ella Gerard and Mairin Rumely Secure Win for South Bend Saint Joseph

South Bend Saint Joseph won the last time they faced South Bend Riley and things went their way on Thursday too. The Huskies put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-8, 25-21.

South Bend Saint Joseph was led to victory by Mairin Rumely and Ella Gerard. Rumely had four digs and four aces, while Gerard had four aces and one assist. That's the most digs Rumely has posted over her last two contests.

They weren't the only good servers: South Bend Saint Joseph was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive matchups.

Despite the loss, South Bend Riley had strong showings from Haven Christman, who had nine digs and one assist, and Ma'Nijah Harris, who had.
