Jenna Howell of Male (Louisville, Ky.) proved she was willing to do anything to beat McCracken County in the state quarterfinals on Thursday night.

The Bulldogs were clinging to a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the final inning. Hannah Ridoli belted a bomb toward left field with "home run" written all over it. But Howell tracked the ball and executed an incredible over-the-shoulder catch as she stormed through the fence. The sophomore shot up and raised the ball with the thunderous applause foreshadowing the outcome.

The home run-saving snag preserved the 3-1 victory and lifted the Bulldogs to the state semifinals. Male also exacted sweet revenge upon McCracken County for ending the Bulldogs' season the past two years.
