Basketball Recap: Dillard Starts Season with Win at Home

Dillard gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They breezed past the Plantation Colonels to the tune of 93-9. With the Panthers ahead 59-3 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dillard to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaynae Gilbert, who shot 67% from the field to rack up 19 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Gabrielle King was another key player, going 8-for-15 en route to 21 points and five steals.

Dillard wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 70-55 victory against Western on the 20th. As for Plantation, they have also already played their next game, a 37-13 defeat against West Broward on the 20th.
