The Loudoun Valley Vikings will take on the South County Stallions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Loudoun Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Dominion with a sharp 21-4 win on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Vikings.
Hailey White and Maddie Howell made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, White pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Howell pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. White has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, White got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Howell went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave Howell a new career-high.

In other batting news, Loudoun Valley got a massive performance out of Anna Ramos, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Ramos a new career-high. Kayla Dunkerley was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Loudoun Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, South County had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Titans as they made off with a 19-9 victory.
The team relied heavily on Ava Abromavage, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiley Gregory, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Loudoun Valley's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for South County, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Loudoun Valley hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.2 home runs per game. However, it's not like South County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs.
