Aikeem Mingle and Donta Wilburn provided fans with a highlight when they connected against East Laurens. The longest such play in AA Region 3 this season, the connection resulted in 70 yards.
Screven County extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Falcons, 15-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Gamecocks.
Screven County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Gamecocks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Mingle has thrown for 610 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Tevin Sneed has 17 catches for 224 yards. Jeremy Johnson leads the league in rushing with 1097 yards.
A big matchup in AA Region 3 this week will be when Laney takes on Dublin. As it stands, the Wildcats are in second, while the Fighting Irish are in fifth.
Laney took down Josey 54-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
