Baseball Recap: Harrisonville Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

While Harrisonville's win against Adrian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Blackhawks 10-8. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on three straight.

Ben Mahurin was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colby Henderson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Harrisonville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Harrisonville pushed their record up to 18-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Adrian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harrisonville will challenge Oak Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.61 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Adrian, they will square off against Barstow at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
