Basketball Recap: Neumann Victorious

Neumann's game on Friday was all tied up 29-29 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They managed a 62-57 victory over the Seacrest Country Day Stingrays. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Celtics also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Several Stingrays players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ethan Bates, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. The match was Bates' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Fedor Vuksanovic was another key player, going 6 of 15 on his way to 15 points along with five rebounds and four blocks.

Neumann is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Seacrest Country Day, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Neumann will take on Lemon Bay in a holiday battle at at 8:00 p.m. on December 20th. As for Seacrest Country Day, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Imagine School at North Port at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Seacrest Country Day is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.8 points per game this season.
