Basketball Recap: Ezekiel Academy Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Ezekiel Academy waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Evangel Christian Lightning by a score of 44-32. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 32-20 two weeks ago.

Ezekiel Academy found their leader in sophomore Gianna Johnson, who posted 11 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Jill Newell was another key player, putting up nine points.

When it comes to explaining why Evangel Christian lost, don't look at Rachel Cassimiro. Despite the final result, she earned eight points and eight boards. Cassimiro is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played.

Ezekiel Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-3. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.2 points per game. As for Evangel Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-6.

Ezekiel Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-19 victory against Conecuh Springs Christian on the 30th. Evangel Christian has also already played their next game, a 51-14 win against Wiregrass on the 31st.
