Recap: Abington Friends vs. Academy of the New Church Lions
Abington Friends lost against the Academy of the New Church Lions back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Abington Friends took a serious blow against the Lions, falling 85-51. Abington Friends was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-21.
Bahsil Laster was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points for Academy of the New Church. The team also got some help courtesy of Tobe Nwobu, who scored 16 points.
Abington Friends has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Academy of the New Church, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Abington Friends will take on the at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shipley is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Academy of the New Church, they and the will face off at 5:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Westtown has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 409 points over their last six matchups.
