Softball Recap: La Crescent Drops Season-High Score on Plainview-Elgin-Millville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask La Crescent). Everything went their way against the Plainview-Elgin-Millville Bulldogs on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-1 victory. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Irland Johnson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Allie Knutson, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: La Crescent kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

La Crescent pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Plainview-Elgin-Millville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Coming up, La Crescent will venture away from home to take on Cotter at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Plainview-Elgin-Millville, they will host Triton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
