Volleyball Recap: Braddock Takes a Loss

If Braddock was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Ransom Everglades last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs fell 3-1 to the Ferguson Falcons on Monday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

While Braddock ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-17, 23-25, 25-18.

Gabriel Perez-Malo paced Braddock's offense, picking up 18 kills. Perez-Malo got some help from Adrian Martin and his 28 assists. Anthony Cipolla controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Braddock has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Ferguson, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Braddock will host Sunset at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ferguson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against MAST Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
