Basketball Recap: Gaby Petersen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sedgwick over Goessel

Sedgwick came up into this matchup off a tough 29-point defeat last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Goessel Bluebirds by a score of 35-33 on Friday. The Cardinals' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Sedgwick lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gaby Petersen, who posted 11 points and six steals. Another player making a difference was Logan Budde, who earned 12 points.

Sedgwick's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Goessel, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Sedgwick wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 66-25 loss against Inman on the 4th. Goessel has also already played their next matchup, a 47-36 win against Wichita Defenders HomeSchool on the 3rd.
