Football Game Preview: Perry Bluejays vs. Creston Panthers

The Perry Bluejays will challenge the Creston Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Perry is looking for their season's first win.

Perry is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Carroll on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Bluejays were outmatched by the Tigers and fell 63-7. The Bluejays were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.

Perry might have lost, but man, Phillip Gray was a machine: he rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown. Gray's longest rush was for an incredible 91 yards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Creston). They walked away with a 42-35 victory over Greene County on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Perry's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Creston, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Perry was taken down by Creston 72-13 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bluejays were down 44-7.
