Sussex Central has gone 8-2 against Cape Henlopen recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Golden Knights are taking a road trip to square off against the Vikings at 4:15 p.m.

Sussex Central is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Delaware's top teams: Lake Forest, who was ranked first at the time (Sussex Central was ranked 16th). The Golden Knights fell 7-4 to the Spartans on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Cape Henlopen put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They beat Woodbridge by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Abby Marsh was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Ava Calciano and Hayden Hudson did most of the damage at the plate: Calciano went 2-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Hudson went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. With that strong performance, Calciano is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Jordynn Bowe was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Cape Henlopen kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Sussex Central now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Cape Henlopen, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Sussex Central beat Cape Henlopen 7-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
