Basketball Recap: Pace Comes Up Short

Pace was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 40-21 to the Lopez Lobos. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-25 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Pace lost, don't look at Bre Nelson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Nelson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Pace's loss dropped their record down to 9-18. As for Lopez, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Pace has already played their next matchup (against Donna), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lopez will welcome Weslaco East at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lopez will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
