Soccer Game Preview: Marshalltown vs. Roosevelt

Marshalltown hasn't had much luck against Roosevelt recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bobcats will welcome the Roughriders. Marshalltown will be strutting in after a win while Roosevelt will be coming in after a defeat.

Marshalltown is headed into the contest having not lost since April 18 and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand Don Bosco a 4-0 shutout last Friday. Considering Marshalltown have won 12 matches by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Despite a strong season so far, Roosevelt has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They lost 3-0 to Roland-Story last Friday. That's two games in a row now that Roosevelt have lost by exactly three goals.

Marshalltown is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those ten contests. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 17-3-2.
