Basketball Recap: Larchmont Charter's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

It was fun while it lasted, but Larchmont Charter's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Friday. They took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Horace Mann UCLA Community Panthers. The Timberwolves were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 40-31.

Defeat or not, Larchmont Charter got some senior leadership from Declan O'Malley and Nicholas Ojeda. O'Malley dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards, while Ojeda posted 15 points and six steals. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for O'Malley.

Even though they lost, Larchmont Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Having lost for the first time this season, Larchmont Charter fell to 5-1. As for Horace Mann UCLA Community, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-7.

Larchmont Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 81-41 victory against Stella High Charter Academy on the 22nd. As for Horace Mann UCLA Community, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-30 loss against Math & Science College Preparatory on the 22nd.
