Soccer Game Preview: Booker T. Washington vs. Denbigh

The Booker T. Washington Mighty Bookers will head out on the road to square off against the Denbigh Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Booker T. Washington's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Booker T. Washington is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Norcom on Tuesday. The Mighty Bookers fell 3-1 to the Greyhounds.

Meanwhile, Denbigh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 8-0 to Menchville. While losing is never fun, Denbigh can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 208th, while Menchville are ranked sixth).

Denbigh's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10-1. As for Booker T. Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Booker T. Washington suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Denbigh in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Mighty Bookers were down 4-0.
