Gibbon and Sandy Creek are both heading into their Friday contest this week after losing their previous games. Gibbon came up short against Southern Valley, falling 42 - 28 last week. As for Sandy Creek, it had a rough outing against Doniphan-Trumbull last week, losing 66 - 0.

Gibbon put on a good show in the second half (the squad netted 21 points), but after a slow start in the first it just wasn't enough. Junior running back Jacob Tracy rushed for an impressive 193 yards but couldn't carry the team alone. The loss dropped Gibbon's record to 0-5.

Sandy Creek was down by 59 points at the end of the third quarter which was just too much to recover from. One major problem for it was yardage: Sandy Creek's 161 total yards paled in comparison to Doniphan-Trumbull's 452. The loss brought Sandy Creek down to 0-5.

We'll find out on Friday which team can get past their loss this week and step into the winner's circle.
