Basketball Recap: Marion Comes Up Short

Marion was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gresham Community Wildcats. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Marion's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Gresham Community, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion will venture away from home to square off against Stockbridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marion is facing Stockbridge at the right time seeing as Stockbridge is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Gresham Community, they will head out on the road to take on Rosholt at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
