Softball Recap: Phoenix Military Comes Up Short

Phoenix Military extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-4 in the process. They lost 22-5 to the Steinmetz College Prep Silver Streaks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Silver Streaks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 last Friday.

As for Steinmetz College Prep, their record now sits at 4-7. That looming 22-5 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For Steinmetz College Prep's part, they got a massive performance out of Deja Kirk, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Yaslene Ruiz also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Phoenix Military will face off against rival Intrinsic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Steinmetz College Prep is set to take on their familiar foe Westinghouse at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
