Baseball Recap: Fillmore Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

There's no place like home for Fillmore, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Hinsdale Central Bobcats on Wednesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Fillmore got a massive performance out of Damon Potter, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of James Hillman, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and two runs.

Fillmore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hinsdale Central only posted an OBP of .318.

Fillmore pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hinsdale Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coming up, Fillmore will head out on the road to face off against Friendship at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hinsdale Central, they will welcome Genesee Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
