Basketball Game Preview: Mira Monte Lions vs. Wonderful College Prep Academy Wolves

The Mira Monte Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Wonderful College Prep Academy Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mira Monte is headed into the game having just posted their biggest victory since January 16, 2024 on Friday. They blew past Golden Valley, posting a 60-27 win. 60 seems to be a good number for the Lions as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Wonderful College Prep Academy beat Woodlake 53-47 on Friday.

Wonderful College Prep Academy's win came from a few key players Mira Monte will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Demetrio Alvarado, who posted 17 points along with six assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Morales, who had 15 points and five boards.

Mira Monte is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for Wonderful College Prep Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7.

Everything went Mira Monte's way against Wonderful College Prep Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2019, as Mira Monte made off with a 78-52 victory.
