Soccer Game Preview: Mater Dei Catholic vs. Castle Park

Last Tuesday, Mater Dei Catholic beat Otay Ranch 4-2. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Mustangs are ranked 419th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Castle Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They never let High Tech CV onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Mater Dei Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-1-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those ten contests. As for Castle Park, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-8-4.
