Recap: Holdenville Wolverines vs. Wewoka Tigers
After a string of six wins, the Holdenville Wolverines's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Wewoka 50-45. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Holdenville has scored all season.
Holdenville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Belle Mcfarland, who scored 11 points. Cylee Null was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Wewoka got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Timber Carter out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds. The contest was Carter's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Awtumn Sipes-Louie, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds.
Holdenville's loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-1. As for Wewoka, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.
Holdenville will be home for the holidays to greet Meeker at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meeker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 370th, while Holdenville is ranked 37th). As for Wewoka, they will head out on the road to face off against Okemah at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Okemah is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
