Baseball Game Preview: Miami Beach Hi-Tides vs. Island Coast Gators

The Miami Beach Hi-Tides are taking a road trip to take on the Island Coast Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Miami Beach will be strutting in after a victory while Island Coast will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Friday, Miami Beach earned a 6-1 win over Goleman.

Luis Mauricio Morales looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

At the plate, Lenonx Munoz was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Miami Beach: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 5-7 otherwise. Julio Piti was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Miami Beach kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Island Coast entered their match against Gulf Coast on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Island Coast lost 8-2 to Gulf Coast.

Ryan Mueller was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Island Coast saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Jaquez, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Those two hits gave Jaquez a new career-high.

The victory got Miami Beach back to even at 8-8. As for Island Coast, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 13-5.
