Basketball Recap: Six Straight Home Wins for Grace Christian

Grace Christian had won five straight home games and Aubrey Greenmun did her part to make it six on Thursday. The Grace Christian Warriors secured a 39-34 W over the Alleghany Cougars thanks in part to Greenmun, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Vogan, who posted six points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds.

Despite the loss, Alleghany still got an impressive performance from Bryce Leitch, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. That was a full 70.6% of Alleghany's points, marking the 16th time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. Kelsey Nicely was another key player, putting up four points and 11 rebounds.

Grace Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.7 points over those games. As for Alleghany, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-5.

Grace Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 26-23 victory against New Covenant on the 7th. As for Alleghany, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 55-33 win against Glenvar on the 7th.
