Softball Game Preview: West Forsyth Titans vs. South Iredell Vikings

The West Forsyth Titans will face off against the South Iredell Vikings on Friday. West Forsyth's pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so South Iredell's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

West Forsyth is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Southwest Guilford with a sharp 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won 17 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, South Iredell made sure to put some runs up on the board against Cuthbertson on Tuesday. The Vikings came out on top against the Cavaliers by a score of 11-6.

Caroline Constable and Addi Myers did most of the damage at the plate: Constable went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double, while Myers went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four stolen bases gave Constable a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carsyn Benfield, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

South Iredell hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

South Iredell has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for West Forsyth, their win bumped their record up to 24-2.
