Baseball Game Preview: Clinton-Massie Falcons vs. Western Brown Broncos

The Clinton-Massie Falcons will face off against the Western Brown Broncos at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Clinton-Massie fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Batavia on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 10-9. The loss continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Western Brown). They blew past Wilmington 12-2 on Monday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Aiden Jetter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Jetter was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Jetter wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was William Stewart, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

The victory made it two in a row for Western Brown and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Clinton-Massie, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
