KEY PLAYERS

LB Owen Pappoe (6-0.5, 210, Sr.) — You could make a strong case the 2019 Auburn commit is the best defensive player in the nation.

OT Wanya Morris (6-5.5, 295, Sr.) — The 2019 Tennessee commit is arguably the best offensive lineman in the land.

CB Kenyatta Watson II (6-2, 190, Sr.) — The 2019 Texas commit is one of the best ball-hawking defensive backs around.

RB Ronald Thompkins Jr. (5-11, 195, Sr.) — The 2019 Nebraska commit is truly underrated. Grayson has a good chance to finish unbeaten and in the Top 5 nationally last year if he didn't suffer an injury.

DE Kevin Harris (6-4, 220, Sr.) — The 2019 Alabama commit is one of the best edge rushers in high school football.

STORYLINES

• Grayson will be one of the most talented teams in the country in 2018. The Rams have won at least 10 games every season except one (2013) since 2007 and have won two state championships during that span (2011 and 2016).

CJ Dixon is a name to keep tabs on this season. The 6-foot-6, 220-pound quarterback is one of the more underrated players from the Class of 2020. If he plays well the Rams will have a good chance to compete for the No. 1 spot in 2018.

• Thompkins is the key on offense. He went down with an injury last season and it changed the entire offense. If he can stay healthy this year, Grayson has one of the most explosive offenses in the country.

• The Rams are loaded on defense and it all starts with their 5-star linebacker Pappoe.
