Basketball Recap: Vinton Comes Up Short

Vinton lost against Pickering back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Vinton Lions took a blow against the Pickering Red Devils, falling 54-20. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Red Devils are ranked 79th).

Vinton has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Pickering, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season.

Vinton will be playing in front of their home fans against Rosepine at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rosepine will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Vinton surely won't give up without a fight. Pickering has already played their next game (against Negreet), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
