Recap: Cedaredge Bruins vs. Olathe Pirates
The Cedaredge Bruins scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took down Olathe 80-65. With that win, Cedaredge brought their scoring average up to 51.1 points per game.
Cedaredge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacob Bowler out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Bowler scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Luke Maxey, who scored 24 points along with five assists and two steals.
Despite the loss, Olathe had strong showings from Isaiah Gordon, who scored 29 points, and Miguel Vargas, who scored 24 points. Garret Millsap was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Cedaredge's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Olathe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedaredge will take on Grand Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Grand Valley is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Olathe, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Roaring Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Roaring Fork focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Tuesday.
