Volleyball Recap: Juanita's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three + How To Watch

Juanita entered their tilt with Hazen on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Highlanders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Juanita who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 22-25, 25-11, 24-26, 15-10.

Norah Lacey paced Juanita's offense, picking up 17 kills. Lacey got some help from Paige Kettell and her 45 assists. Kettell was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Despite the loss, Hazen still got an impressive performance from Karamelu Ioane, who had 22 digs and four aces. Ioane is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 12 every time she's taken the court this season. Olivia Loughnane also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Juanita's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Hazen, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Juanita wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Woodinville on the 14th. As for Hazen, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Cedarcrest on the 14th.
